YOUR ROLE

Reporting to the Creative Director of CRAFT Boston, the Associate Creative Director UX/Digital will manage a team of designers responsible for creative projects across all digital platforms. Taking the lead on high-level UX projects, you'll use your industry-leading digital experience and strategic thinking to deliver breakthrough design concepts. Working alongside other creative and content leads, you'll integrate these concepts into high-quality digital and web solutions that engage customers and keep our clients asking for more. As a leader within the Creative Team, you'll play a critical role in fostering a culture that inspires team members to be passionate about what they do, instill a willingness to learn, and establish a desire to collaborate and partner with in doing great work together.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the day-to-day creative responsibilities for the UX design team

  • Review creative deliverables providing oversight as well as giving critical feedback

  • Provide creative concepting and executional expertise to integrated campaigns that are developed across all creative platforms

  • Drive high-level UX & UI design that combines a strategic and customer centric design

  • Drive and inspire creative thinking on your team; demonstrating brand and creative leadership to your team and agency partners

  • Mentor team reports while providing them a positive environment to grow and learn

  • Proactively seek to stay ahead of industry design trends, market developments and technology

  • Lead by example to deliver award-worthy work that inspires and generates measurable results for clients

  • Foster a strong working relationship with Project Management and Creative Execution teams

  • Collaborate with leadership in hiring, mentoring, and guiding all creative team members to ensure the highest quality of work and personal development

  • Spearhead consistent brand application and ensure UX standards & methodologies, including ADA compliance, are being upheld

  • Partner with cross-functional creative teams (Strategy, Content, Social, and Development) to tell our clients' stories in engaging ways while translating them across a broad mix of media/platforms

Required Skills

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of creative leadership in high performing UX/Visual design teams

  • 3+ years of Agency experience

  • Ability and willingness to recognize the best creative solution

  • Full understanding of UX/Visual design standards with proven experience in design and development processes for web and mobile properties

  • Creative/strategic thought leader (and doer) with an eye for detail

  • Understand the value of fostering a customer-led approach combined with the ability to lead and produce strong creative work

  • Communication, presentation and networking skills that give you a presence in a room while earning respect of others

  • Expert knowledge within industry leading design software, including the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Sketch

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of creative leadership in high performing UX/Visual design teams

  • Strong technical skills, with understanding of front-end development process, and a strong familiarity of HTML, HTML5, CSS, Javascript

  • Deep understanding of human behavior within digital commerce & retail properties

  • Experienced in leading & inspiring integrated creative teams (Print and Digital)

  • Strong creative brainstorming, ideation, and related problem-solving skills

  • Proven track record as a big picture thinker who pushes the creative envelope

  • Outstanding verbal & written communication skills

  • Highly organized with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
