Assists in providing creative direction to Creative teams and for the development, design and production of creative concepts. Understands briefs and works with the Account Services, Creative, and Production Departments to refine direction if required. Develop and execute concepts through rounds of internal and external revisions, build comps for client presentations and mechanicals to vendors.
This position requires heavy direct mail and email marketing experience and an advertising or marketing agency background.
What you'll do:
Be responsible for the creation, conceptualization and design of campaigns and projects;
Ensure concepts developed by the agency are on strategy, practical and cost-effective to produce;
Assist in the development of creative work for new business pitches;
Present creative work to clients as needed;
Collaborate with Copywriters to develop concepts;
Ensure the creative work of the agency is produced to the highest standards of accuracy and quality control;
Art direct photo shoots as required;
Remain up-to-date on the latest developments in software applications, printing techniques and production technology;
Recommend improvements and changes to the agency's processes and procedures and employ best;
Develop and grow the skills and experience of the creative team and seek and hire new talent as required.
Who you are:
You have a high level of understanding in art direction, graphic design and interactive including page layout, typography and illustration;
You are understanding of integrated direct marketing principles;
You have proven staff management skills with experience in handling direct reports;
You are highly organized with an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and simultaneously handle multiple projects, and allocate work to the remainder of the team;
You have a strong understanding of strategic direction;
You have xcellent conceptual and design skills;
You are highly skilled and efficient in the use of InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, including the ability to make changes quickly and accurately;
You are very accurate with high attention to detail;
You have excellent visual and verbal communication skills;
You are a highly motivated self-starter with a can-do attitude.
Bachelor of Fine Arts or equivalent work experience;
Minimum of 7 years experience preferred;
Wide ranging portfolio focused on direct marketing campaigns with a strong direct mail/print emphasis including conceptual, design and production expertise.
