Premier Inc. is currently seeking an Associate to add to our Corporate Development team. This position works with Corporate and Business Unit leaders to assist with strategic and corporate development projects with guidance from the Vice President of Corporate Development or Director of Corporate Development.

The position performs complex financial and strategic analysis and provides project management to support internal and external growth opportunities and supports key reporting requirements for Premier's Strategic Planning; project work includes financial modeling and valuation analyses for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) including discounted cash flow, comparable public companies, precedent transactions and leveraged buyout analyses; project work also includes support for corporate strategy planning and deployment, and various business unit initiatives and projects

The Associate will also aid in the process for identifying, assessing and selecting acquisition prospects as well as performing due diligence investigations of potential acquisitions. As a project leader for M&A engagements, the Corporate Development Associate works directly with investment bankers, lawyers and accountants to ensure the appropriate information is available for strategic decisions to be made by Business Unit and Executive leaders.

This position provides ongoing analytical expertise, combining increased assessment responsibilities with independent project management of corporate development projects, and taking on complex assignments that span across multiple business units and support units.

This position collaborates daily with the Corporate Development team as well as Vice Presidents and other leaders across Premier to meet deliverables.

Major Accountabilities

  • Builds and refines complex financial models for company valuation purposes.

  • Performs ad-hoc financial analyses for a range of strategic and M&A initiatives.

  • Leads M&A project management engagements with outside investment bankers, lawyers, accountants and other 3rd party providers of M&A support.

  • Independently manages analytic and research projects in support of business development and strategic initiatives.

  • Interfaces with Leadership Team-level internal customers of Corporate Development to ensure accurate, timely and complete analytic work.

  • Conducts complex analyses on special projects to help determine whether it is economically beneficial to build versus buy appropriate solutions.

  • Leads due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions, including coordinating with internal teams and the acquisition target's team fulfilling due diligence requests.

  • Primary team interface with potential acquisition C-level members in the gathering of due diligence.

  • Performs complex analysis of M&A opportunities to support go / no-go decision in moving forward with an acquisition.

  • Initiates appropriate research and analysis and prepares reports for internal and external projects.

  • Supports strategy deployment process by providing analysis, assessment, and recommendations.

  • Leads Corporate Development team document retention and organizational efforts.

  • Oversees and maintains deal pipeline, tracks market M&A activity, assembles internal updates, and creates deal review presentations for CFO, CEO and BOD.

  • Select and prepares relevant charts, graphs, and tables for presentation or inclusion in reports.

  • Produces a variety of correspondence, reports and presentations using the appropriate software for word processing, graphics, and spreadsheets.

  • Trains other business unit members on best Excel best practices in financial modeling.

  • Assembles and summarizes information for Corporate Development Directors and VPs and for internal customers as required.

  • Presents to internal business unit owners, sales/field teams and the Executive Team.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) required

  • Financial modeling and company valuations experience

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in the financial industry

  • Previous experience managing analytic and financial projects either in investment banking or consulting

  • Healthcare experience preferred

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required

The centerpiece of this responsibility involves the design, development and implementation of programs, curriculum, policies and strategies tailored to support organizational culture, diversity enrichment, associate education and career development. The vehicles for accomplishing these goals are classroom training, as well as e-learning through an organizational Learning Management System (LMS). Key activities of the position include the design and execution of NGC's organizational development (OD) and training processes; evaluation of strategies and programs to measure the achievement of educational goals; training facilitation, and coaching required to support associate growth and development. The selected candidate will also make budgetary recommendations that meet departmental objectives. Major Job Responsibilities (not all inclusive): * Overall responsibility for strategy development related to the cultural and diversity improvement initiatives. This includes working with NGC business leaders to devise an approach that results in better cultural and diversity intelligence, as well as behaviors that support NGC values and improves the productivity and engagement of the workforce. * Creation and management of the necessary materials, programs and processes that aid the adoption of corporate initiatives and goals, especially those related to culture change, diversity enrichment, associate education and company vision and strategy. * Development of research, best practices and compliance systems for enhancing overall organizational culture and workforce performance. * Design and delivery of high-quality training programs to support corporate strategy and associate education for both the hourly and salaried workforces (classroom and e-learning). * Provide programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of associates, especially emerging leaders and those within the succession plan. * Plan and execute tailored educational programs and processes in conjunction with leadership and the business units for delivery to all associate groups. * Manage and develop UltiPro LMS centered, e-learning content for user education. * Serve as the administrator for the UltiPro LMS system. This includes security and content management, as well as responsibility for all LMS reporting. * Participate with professional boards and organizations to develop appropriate standards and practices of culture enrichment and workplace education.
