Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to be based in Seattle to support Amazon Web Services, a rapidly growing business within AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, browsers and more. Primary job duties will involve assisting the dynamic and innovative new product development teams by providing legal compliance counsel in the area of occupational safety and health.

You will join a global legal team responsible for counseling AWS on a broad range of regulatory compliance matters relevant to our data center infrastructure and operations, including health & safety, environmental, trade, and products. As part of the health and safety legal compliance team that sits within the larger group, you will have an opportunity to work with global leaders on the health and safety, engineering and operations business teams.

You will assist these teams by providing legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions, primarily focused on occupational safety and health requirements related to new product and equipment development. You will collaborate with attorneys around the globe to support pioneering business initiatives, gain intimate knowledge about how our data centers operate, and have an opportunity to work directly with engineering development teams as they create the innovative new products that have an impact on our data center infrastructure and operations, worldwide. Some travel, domestic and international, will be required.

Job Title: Corporate Counsel - Australia Role overview: As we continue to grow, we are looking to add an experienced and motivated In-House Counsel to join our dynamic and growing Legal department. Responsibilities include advising senior executives on legal issues, negotiating general commercial contracts and agreements, managing claims and litigation, advising on potential corporate transactions, advising on employment and human resource issues, and implementing statutory and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of technology law as well as a demonstrated ability to recognize and weigh business and legal risks, think strategically and advance practical solutions. Responsibilities: * Provide sound and practical advice on a wide range of legal and business matters in a complex, fast-paced environment to a broad range of multi-national business teams Qualifications: * An Australian qualified lawyer with a minimum of 6 years PQE experience in an in-house position * A minimum 2:1 Law degree and legal training from a top 20 law firm * Superior drafting skills, especially the ability to draft contract language that is clear, concise, and easily understood.
