YOU

As Associate Content Specialist, you will work collaboratively across multiple teams to help create multimedia training content that meets internal and external customer needs. Responsible for diverse tasks that contribute to the development of engaging and impactful training content, you will collaborate with Instructional Designers by supporting their training projects.

This is a highly creative position that requires moderate familiarity collaborating with design tools, designing graphics, photo editing, video editing, document formatting, and asset management. This position will allow you to foster your skills designing multimedia while teaching you to create effective and engaging learning content.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Develop and update various assets related to learning content using images, video, desktop publishing, illustration, slide show presentations, and other multimedia under the direction of the content development manager. These assets will be utilized in training designed by an Instructional Designer. (30%)

Update various reference information in existing instructor-led and online course materials as outlined by project managers or instructional designers to maintain our existing course catalog. (30%)

Format and enhance informal learning content (documents, presentations, graphics) upon request to support the broader internal audience at Simpson Strong-Tie in their training endeavors. (20%)

Serve as a production assistant in our studio or on-site, aiding in various aspects of video content creation, including camera operation, set design, and lighting. (10%)

Proactively collaborate with instructional designers to learn the process of designing training content from inception to completion to acquire competency in instructional design to support the department. (10%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you've got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

  • Two years of experience desktop publishing (Word, InDesign, Publisher, etc.)

  • Two years of experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software suite required (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, etc.) in graphic design and video editing

  • Proficient in creating visually compelling PowerPoint presentations and infographics

  • Preferred experience in video production, either professionally or through formal education

  • Associate degree in a Multimedia-related field a plus (video production, graphic design, communications, visual arts, etc.)

  • Experience working with training content and materials a plus

This job operates in a professional office environment where standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. are frequently used.

Travel

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 5% of the time.

This full-time, exempt position is located in Pleasanton, CA., hybrid schedule.

Pay

$60,100 - $78,100 / year
