The Red Hat People (HR) team is looking for an Associate Compensation Consultant to join us in supporting our Products and Technology (PnT) team based in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work in an exciting, fast-paced environment focused on growth, enabling our company to make the right choices in rewarding associates. You will partner with other members of the Compensation team, HR managers, business partners, and our Talent Acquisition team in consulting with the business. You'll work with the management to address current challenges and enable our growth by consulting and offering feedback on compensation programs that fit into our total rewards philosophy for base salary, short and long-term incentive plans, compensation communication and trainings, as well as compensation technologies and tools.
Primary job responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for managers or HR team members, answering questions related to our compensation cycles, which include but are not limited to base pay, equity, and bonuses
Review and make compensation recommendations for internal and external hires
Conduct job evaluations to match roles to market surveys and make leveling recommendations
Use compensation data, market analyses, business strategies, and talent review data to develop and implement compensation recommendations for promotions, international transfers and retention cases
Monitor and analyze local competitive compensation data to determine if adjustments to Red Hat's salary structure, pay practices, or compensation guidelines are needed
Partner with PnT Senior Compensation Consultant to develop special retention plans based on business needs, in coordination with your global HR team partner
Develop dynamic models to interpret and analyze data
Lead or participate in compensation processes and projects, as needed
3+ years of HR experience with proven ability to partner with HR team members and management in a complex global business environment, preferably in the high-technology industry
Confident with good communications skills; comfortable speaking and listening and able to build relationship with stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in business, psychology, or analytical fields like mathematics, science, or finance; Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certificate is preferred
Advanced spreadsheet and data presentation skills, including the ability to apply and use functions such as lookups, pivot tables, and mathematical formulas
