Summary

This is a grant funded position focused on developing and maintaining community collaborations to improve the mental health of adolescents, young adults, and their families. This position will provide education and counseling services for adolescents, young adults, and their families as well as further build relationships with community partners. Services will include, but are not limited to, training for YMCA summer day and overnight camp counselors as well as counseling for YMCA Camp Cullen staff and campers.

Additionally, the Associate Clinician may provide clinical services with supervision. This role may include completing psychosocial assessments, providing individual, family, and group therapy. This role will also complete discharge planning and aftercare services in the outpatient treatment planning process, and other clinical services as assigned.

Key Functions

A. Build community collaborations to impact the mental health of adolescents, young adults, and their families, including:

  • Develop and implement collaborative partnerships with community partners

  • Design evidence based, research driven programs based on assessment of the needs of each partnering organization and Menninger's available resources to support partnerships.

  • Monitor community resources to avoid duplication of services in the community; rather leveraging those services as additional resources

  • Demonstrate impact of programs to ensure they can be scaled, self-sustaining and/or integrated into the communities they serve

  • Ensure referral processes are integrated into programs in the event an adolescent needs to access a more intensive level of care

B. Develop educational programming and support for families

  • This resource may include virtual and in-person educational content and support

  • Assist in navigation of mental health care system

  • Explore development of a parent coaching resource

C. Provide outpatient care delivery, primarily individual therapy

  • Outpatient clinical care will consist of individual and group therapy

  • All clinical care will be provided under supervision of an LCSW Supervisor until no longer necessary

  • All appropriate documentation for clinical care will be completed in a timely manner

  • Completes psychosocial assessments.

  • Cofacilitate and facilitate individual, family, and group therapy.

  • Participates in the patient's diagnostic conferences and family feedback sessions.

  • Completes discharge planning process.

  • Creating/signing treatment plans.

  • Participates as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Other clinical, administrative, or case management duties as assigned.

  • Participate in clinical supervision with a board approved supervisor

  • Openly disclose all relevant information about each case. Relevant information includes but is not limited to information disclosed by the client, information received from other sources about the client, reports of any contact the client has with the supervisee or other representatives of the employing organization, the supervisees positive or negative feelings about each client.

  • The supervisee will comply with all laws, regulations, and code of ethics regarding clinical practice and supervision in alignment with their respective board and hospital regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • The supervisee will communicate any concerns about safety in a timely manner to their supervisor and team.

D. Complete other duties as requested

  • Accepts additional assignments willingly

  • Demonstrates an ability to perform a variety of duties, maintains flexibility

  • Demonstrates an ability to respond to changing workloads and crisis and emergency situations

Education:

Required: Completion of accredited master's degree in social work or mental health counseling.

License/Certification: Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Associate in the state of Texas. (LMSW, LPC-A, LMFT-A)

  • Must have valid TX driver's license, dependable automobile, clean drivers record and be fully insured (passenger coverage).

Experience: Behavioral health field placements as part of graduate training.

Preferred: At least one year of experience in a clinical setting.
