POSITION SUMMARY:

Under direction of the CSE Manager, the Associate Client Systems Engineer is responsible for assisting the CSEs with supporting existing client's hardware issues, implementing both upgrade and new system hardware installation. This position works under limited direction for CSE's and will provide in office back-up support for the CSE's during the CSE client site visits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adheres to and enforces SCC Corporate Operating Procedures and Departmental Operating Procedures.

  • Supports good manufacturing practices as defined by SCC.

  • Assists with server component installation, on-site or remote assistance.

  • Cooperates with Client Support department to resolve client's hardware problems in a timely manner.

  • Server

  • Serial devices - modem, instrumentation

  • Tape drive

  • Contact clients on tasks in waiting status.

  • Evaluate new equipment and prepare documentation on installation, setup, and configuration of the new equipment to work with SCC products.

  • Assist in configuration and maintenance of in-house servers.

  • Assist in installation and configuration of printer queues, and troubleshooting printing issues.

  • Assist in installation and configuration of terminal servers for instrument and modem connection.

  • Modem communication - Faxing, remote printing

  • Remote installation of add-on instrument interface.

  • Comply with all approved procedures, directives and guidelines.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education Required:

Associate's Degree, currently enrolled in a related Technical program. or Certifications

Experience Required:

UNIX, Linux background and hardware troubleshooting skills are highly desirable.
