Associate Civil Engineer

Akkodis is partnering with a client in the municipal services in need of an Associate Civil Engineer for a 12-month temporary contract in Elk Grove, CA. This role is responsible for performing difficult and complex engineering work and acts as supervisor to a small group of engineers and/or paraprofessional engineering staff. Associates may serve as project/resident engineers on a single major or several minor engineering projects.

The Terms:

• Contract 12-months, with probable extension

• Onsite: Elk Grove, CA 95758 (ability to transition to hybrid once training completed)

• Monday - Friday, 40-hours per week

• Pay Range: $55-$65/hr W2

The Qualifications:

• Current registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers (PE)

• Experience with design planning and project review

• Experience with project scope, budget and timeline

• Knowledge of civil engineering design and drafting methods and equipment

• Experience with topographic and construction surveying, stress analysis, mechanics and properties of materials

The Responsibilities:

Energy Management Program

• Develop annual electricity budget estimates for SRTWP.

• Manage process power meters, electrical billing and tracking power usage for SRWTP process.

• Main point of contact for all energy related issues and manage SMUD and Voltus energy agreements for the plant.

• Develop and manage energy saving opportunities and energy optimization related projects.

• Provide input and review of energy related projects.

Process Support

• Facilitate design/planning review of new plant and interceptor projects

• Perform lifecycle cost analyses and business case evaluations for plant and interceptor projects

• Manage/lead worker on plant optimization and special studies related to wastewater treatment.

• Develop project scope and manage project schedule and budgets

• Develop test plans, test procedures/protocol and prepare technical memorandums for optimization/special studies.

• Direct field sampling, field monitoring and activities related to optimization/special studies.

• Coordinate field study activities with O&M staff and analytical work with SRWTP laboratory.

• Review and analyze data related to optimization special studies.

• Conduct presentations to staff and plant management related to optimization and special studies.
