The Associate Chief Nursing Officer will oversee Critical Care, Inpatient Psych and Nursing Operations. In collaboration with other service, discipline, and departmental colleagues, they will assure that competent, compassionate patient care is consistently provided for patients and families in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings; and is ultimately held accountable for nursing care quality, financial, human resource and satisfaction outcomes at the unit and service level.

The Associate Chief Nursing Officer, in collaboration with staff and other leaders, selects, mentors and develops front line nursing leaders and then supports and directs those leaders in the development, implementation and evaluation of standards, policies, programs, and services consistent with the mission of Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital (BWFH) and with the Department of Nursing's vision and philosophy. As a member of the nursing executive leadership team, the Associate Chief Nursing Officer participates in the efficient and effective leadership of the department of nursing, and in the development of Patient Care Service's strategic plan.

Qualifications:

  • Current registration in nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

  • MSN (or) DNP (or) PhD, (or) a BSN with a Master's degree in a related field required.

  • Current certification required or to be attained within two-year period from date of hire. Certification must be maintained while employed in this position.

  • Minimum of 10 years of nursing experience.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in nursing administration within an academic medical center (preferred).

  • Must have demonstrated ability in management of diverse activities pertaining to a patient service line or clinical programs.

  • Expert interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Must have broad theoretical knowledge and work experiences that demonstrate:

  • Familiarity with models of professional nursing practice,

  • Management of personnel and fiscal resources in a patient care setting,

  • Program development, implementation, and evaluation,

  • Long-range program planning that involves complex decision-making skills.
