Responsibilities

Mission Linen Supply is seeking an experienced Associate Buyer or Buyer. An Associate Buyer / Buyer: Places orders with approved vendors for products that are supplied to plants and customers. Monitors and modifies orders based on published pricing and substitution guidelines. Has excellent customer service skills and great attention to detail. Maintains professional working relationships and works as a team to achieve corporate goals. Seeks to improve themselves, the company and the customers we serve.Ensures that Mission Linen Supply keeps a good name in the laundry business.

The Associate Buyer or Buyer pay is $18.00 - $24.00 an hour. The starting pay is based on education, experience, other qualifications, and location of assignment.

Qualifications

Job Responsibilities

  • Place and confirm Transfer and Purchase Orders in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Ensure item numbers are correct and pricing on Purchase Orders in SAP and related systems.

  • Manage Invoices with cost and/or freight exceptions and Substitutions.

  • Cover other buyers when they are out of the office (including the Purchasing Manager).

  • Prepare for, attend, participate in & follow up on meetings with Teams and Vendors as needed.

  • Engage with Excel and PowerBI reporting tools for assigned vendors and ad hoc requirements.

  • Manage order processing and communication to plants including Out of Stock, Backorders, Substitutions, and other fulfillment exceptions.

Basic Requirements

  • Excellent Verbal and Written communication and high attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple competing requirements and to prioritize conscientiously.

  • Hold an AA/BA and have 1+ years' experience in Purchasing OR have 3+ years' experience in Purchasing OR 5+ years' experience in Accounting or Bookkeeping.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

  • Ability to engage with password-protected Vendor Portals, download, format, and organize Vendor Pricing and Order Confirmations and other Purchase Order data.

Preferred Experience (Please highlight any of these in your application emails)

  • Experience managing multiple vendors and multiple shipping locations.

  • Experience with high volume UPS and FedEx shipments.

  • Comfort w/ Excel, including sorting & mathematical formulas including V-LOOKUP and PowerBI.

  • Prior experience with ERP or Order Management Systems. Experience within SAP is a plus.

  • Experience Purchasing garments, textiles, packaging products or laundry equipment is a plus.
