Compiles information and records to prepare and issue purchase orders for procurement of material to support production and give operations continuity of supply by performing the following duties.
Develop and manage supporting production and inventory control plans per established guidelines and metrics. Work closely with production management to ensure material flow supports the master production schedule in a cost-effective manner.
Analyze the SAP information and reports that are driven by the daily processing of MRP. Create monthly, weekly and daily production plans by scheduling the timing of planned and released production orders so that the demand on the respective work centers is loaded efficiently and designed to meet the specific requirements of the Master Schedule.
Review SAP inventory reports, records, requisitions, supply/demand signals or physical warehouse on hand inventory to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity based on set min/max levels.
Send requests for quotes and adhere to policy and procedure related to cost increases and suppliers additions.
Release manufacturing and purchase orders, using judgment to adjust timing and order size to level workloads and optimize WIP to insure smooth workflow.
Review spot buy requisitions and follows established SAP processes to prepare purchase orders.
Verify nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests. i.e. price, supplier, lead time, lot size order cadence
Perform periodic reviews of usage and min/max settings to ensure they are aligned with current business needs.
Purchase orders must be processed in a manner that is governed by ROC Purchase Order Policy and material received in the correct quantities in time to support production requirements.
Reschedule released manufacturing and purchase orders as required and appropriate based upon the daily review of SAP exception reports.
Plan production and purchases in a manner that will not create excess or obsolete inventory. Work to disposition any inventory that has been deemed excess and obsolete.
Interface with suppliers regularly via phone, fax, email, and in-person to maintain a favorable supplier relationship and to ensure on-time delivery of product.
Receive incoming material and put stock in appropriate locations.
Fill operations and maintenance requests for material, including issuing material out of inventory to appropriate cost center.
Ship material out of inventory as needed, i.e. regrind, defective material
Verify invoices from suppliers with bids and purchase orders and approves bills for payment.
Maintain inventory accuracy to include regular cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and adjustments as required.
Work with the team to communicate quality and delivery issues to internal team members.
Address defective goods/services with quality, engineering, end users, and suppliers to correct unacceptability issues.
Participate in the annual Facility side physical inventory.
Participate in new planning and inventory control initiatives and team activities as required.
Work with the team to suggest methods to reduce on-hand inventory quantities and overall operational costs.

Skills and Education Required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Products; Outlook, Word, Excel
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, MSDS sheets, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Employees may encounter hazardous wastes during their work. Hazardous wastes are to be handled appropriately; including applicable use of PPE, placement into compatible containers, container labeling and marking; etc.
Additionally, wastes may need to be transported to/from satellite accumulation areas to 90-day accumulation area; via dolly, forklift, etc.
All employees working with, handling, or managing hazardous wastes will receive annual RCRA training. Those employees preparing waste for shipment will receive additional trainings (DOT).
