Job Description and Duties

DIR is looking for a dynamic, highly-motivated, independent individual that will help act as the Department's Records Management Coordinator.

Do you enjoy coordinating records functions and thrive in an hybrid telework environment that allows you to work from home and travel to different offices throughout California? If so, the Department of Industrial Relations' (DIR) Business Services team is looking for you! As the Records Management Coordinator, you'll provide ongoing assistance and training to DIR Division liaisons relating to records management best practices, creating and maintaining records retention schedules, and coordinating the transfer, storage, and destruction of records from DIR offices. You will manage and administer service contracts for the Branch's Business Service's needs including, but not limited to, mail services, moving services, shredding services, and other records management-related contracts. This position also assists with procurement and fleet efforts for the branch. The DIR Business Services Team provides opportunities for creativity and problem-solving. You will join a team of professionals supporting the DIR's mission to improve working conditions for employees in California. You can expect to engage with DIR stakeholders including our workers' compensation, labor enforcement, and Cal/OSHA teams. Candidates are eligible for hybrid telework with two (2) in office days.

Candidates may be offered 9/8/80 voluntary Alternate Work Week Schedules (AWWS) consisting of eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day in a two-week period with one scheduled day off every other week.

Working Conditions

This job is located in Sacramento.

The incumbent works in a cubicle environment in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control. The incumbent is required to work extensively on the computer, as necessary, for email communication, research, and other purposes. Some occasional travel is required to visit various DIR offices

The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) was established in 1927.
