Position Overview

QA Emphasis(varies ~90%): The Associate Business Analyst , performs manual integrated testing of modules within the system, based upon requirements. Defines, implements and verifies regression test data and test cases.

ABA Emphasis(varies ~10%): The Associate Business Analyst identifies client's business needs for complex systems development and defines appropriate solutions. Performs requirement analysis, documents requirements and creates technical and process flowcharts as required

Responsibilities

QA Emphasis:

  • Assist with the development of test matrices and conduct thorough tests (UAT; QA as required).

  • Evaluate defects identified and ensure achievement of clients' requirements prior to the release of the system. Major testing initiatives may require coordination of a team of associates conducting the testing.

  • Review, analyze and verify production problems. Work with the Business users to understand priority and schedule production fixes.

  • Partner with IT and project Business Analyst (as necessary) to develop solutions to issues identified in the testing process.

ABA Emphasis:

  • Assists to develop, validate, document, and maintain business and functional requirements and conduct structured walkthroughs of requirements with business and project team members.

  • Participate in project teams to document business needs in the form of formal requirements and applicable technical flowcharts and partner with developers/designers to develop and implement appropriate solutions; while ensuring the solution supports all affected business units. Manage and communicate project status, escalating as necessary.

  • Identify downstream users and impacted system users and ensure proper involvement and coordination.

  • Assist with the coordination and management of communications to impacted and interested parties with respect to implementation of process or systems changes.

  • Partner with the Business user to identify and implement process improvement opportunities. Advocate and participate in change management for process and system changes.

Requirements

Education and Experiences

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience 1-3 years IT-related experience, such as Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, etc

Preferred:

  • 3+ years IT-related experience, such as Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, etc.

Insurance industry knowledge

LOMA Certification, ARA Designation

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Applications, including Excel and Access preferred. Experience in benefits, pricing, contracting or claims and knowledge of provider reimbursement methodologies. Knowledge of managed care information or claims payment systems preferred. Previous structured testing experience preferred.
