Primary Purpose:

Install shingles and related components on homes according to specifications.

Job Duties:

• Mark and snap chalk lines to layout the house for shingle installation.

• Load shingles onto the roof.

• Install shingles in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards.

• Install vent pipe boots and vents for range hood or microwave.

• Install fireplace boots as needed.

• Install ridge vents to ensure proper ventilation.

• Apply tar to vents, boots, and shingles as necessary.

• Install roof felt to provide additional protection.

• Seal up any exposed areas with plastic to prevent water infiltration.

Education / Experience Required:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Safety / Environmental Requirements:

• Use of sealants may be required.

• Exposure to uncontrolled climate conditions.

• Use of safety harness/karabiner and retractable lanyard.

• Use of safety netting as necessary.

Equipment/Machines Used:

• Staple Guns

• Screw Guns

• Nail Guns

• Step Ladders

• General Hand Tools

Testing Required:

• Drug Screening

• Hearing Test

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 90 pounds.

• Normal use of hands is required.

• Moderate amount of stretching and bending is necessary during work.
