Associate Broadcast Media Investments Director

Are you a seasoned broadcast negotiator with an eye toward the evolving video and audio landscape? Do your teams, colleagues and clients see you as a partner, collaborator, and aspiring leader? Do you believe TV and radio buys are more than "spots and dots" and opportunities for creative media? If this sounds like you, keep reading.

The Colle McVoy media team is looking for an experienced broadcast media buyer and proven leader who has the chops to take multi-market local and national negotiations to the next level without breaking a sweat. As a full-service agency, we're seeking a curious and passionate team player to work closely with our media strategists and external sales representatives to create never-been-done-before campaigns. Our ideal candidate not only knows the fundamentals but is excited by the evolving data-led, advanced targeting video/audio landscape, and understands that "people are people" (not just standard demos) and that media buys are creative opportunities beyond traditional ads.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and steward national and local broadcast buys for a wide range of clients including Fortune 100 brands, major retailers, local heroes, and up-and-coming disruptors.

  • Lead a team of experienced broadcast buyers and assistants in partnership with the VP, Director of Broadcast Media Investments.

  • Partner closely with media strategy team members to help create unique approaches to broadcast buying to fit our clients' changing needs.

  • Be a master user of industry research, buying software and agency resources to develop the strongest buy recommendations.

  • Understand the nuances between brand building and performance-driven broadcast campaigns.

  • Bring established relationships and strong partnerships with the media sales community to activate creative media solutions and innovative brand integration programs at the local station, national network and ownership group levels.

  • Monitor broadcast buys like a hawk to ensure we deliver above and beyond our clients' expectations.

  • Partner with our finance team to ensure that our media invoicing and payment process is flawless and timely.

  • Be a thought leader, informing and inspiring the entire media department and agency with your latest knowledge of the media landscape.

  • Run a tight ship, keeping broadcast buys and documentation organized and precise.

Required Skills

  • Ability to understand client businesses and agency processes.

  • Passion for advertising, broadcast TV/radio landscape and emerging video/audio technologies with a strong desire to be an active contributor to both strategic and creative solutions.

  • Leadership skills and ability to empathetically mentor broadcast colleagues.

  • Thrive on efficiency and organization.

  • Ability to translate production and technical language for efficient asset production and trafficking expertise.

  • Excels in problem solving and collaboration with internal teams and clients.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication including the ability to create high-quality presentations and to sell media buy recommendations to various stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.

  • Ten or more years in local & national TV/video and radio/audio media buying experience, agency-side experience preferred.

  • Proficient in Mediaocean, Nielsen, SQAD, Extreme Reach and/or other relevant media management, research, measurement and trafficking platforms.

  • Digital video, cross-screen and digital audio experience a plus

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Ability to travel as needed.
