The Associate Benefits Financial Analyst maintains oversight of some financial and related activities for the Mount Sinai institution overall, (departments, centers, units). This individual ensures regulatory compliance of the Health and Welfare Plan. Analyzes, interprets statistical data of financial information to submit to Finance. Ensures completeness and accuracy of payments to vendors. Provides recommendations and support to upper management and the Senior Analyst in the areas of plan interpretation, implementation and system design. Provides administration of the Long term disability, Life Insurance programs and death claim program. Performs analyses to identify revenue collection problems and other trends.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Monitors reviews and evaluates information to upload to various vendors websites in addition to validate and reconcile financial data to vendor sources. Monitors, pulls and captures information from secure site to send to vendors.
Interprets the financial data to ensure completeness and consistency of financial data.
Conducts, researches, analyzes and administers Benefits and Pension contributions for New York State Nurses Association and 1199 SEIU fund. Prepares and loads file information for all locations BI and MSM population.
Prepares and updates numerical data charts for union population based on contract negotiations for all annuals deductions.
Prepares and submits check request to finance and Accounts Payable. Prepares transmittal request for outside vendors.
Communicates with Finance to obtain explanations or alert them to transfers to ensure information is captured accurately.
Serves as administrator for the Backup billing program for voluntary Long term Disability, Life Insurance programs and death claims.
Works collaboratively with colleagues and external vendors sources while serving as a point of contact regarding data collection and ongoing communications.
Administers benefits programs, conduct aggressive case management of current and former Employees for Appeals cases. Provides resolution on Benefits process and procedures. Serves as a technical expert in matters involving Employee claims.
Participates in new initiatives with the Benefits staff in tasks for Open Enrollment.
