Job Title: Associate Benefits Administrator, Retirement
Job Description:
Job Summary
This position will serve as the primary contact within benefits for retiree consultations, in addition to troubleshoot and resolve retirement issues in coordination with vendors as appropriate. Responsible for interpretation of regulations, policies, and procedures related to retirement, retiree health insurance, life insurance, disability, and other allied programs. Responsible for the administration of the state and police/fire pensions plans, coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders. Receive, review and process retirement invoicing ensuring accuracy. Support senior benefits administrator with execution of retirement programs, reporting and communications.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Human Resources, Finance, or related field
Six months of experience managing programs or projects
Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of required education and related experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to take initiative, work independently, interpret policies and procedures, and proactively resolve issues or improve processes
Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, etc.
Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs
Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions
Ability to gather and analyze data to identify trends and propose a course of action based on findings
What Is Helpful:
Experience interpreting and communicating employee benefits
Knowledgeable about various retirement plans including Defined Contribution, Tax-Deferred Annuity, Deferred Compensation, and Defined Benefit Plans.
Ability to work within payroll systems and Microsoft office applications
