Job Title: Associate Benefits Administrator, Leaves
Job Description:
Job Summary
This position is responsible for administering various leave policies and processes including FMLA, STD/LTD, Worker's Compensation, PWFA/PPL, ADA and Business Leaves. Counsel with employees regarding leaves of absence, record time, troubleshoot and resolve benefits and leave issues in coordination with other staff and vendors as appropriate. Provide support for Purdue Global and Purdue University faculty and staff. Administer Business Leaves for the university, including Sabbaticals, R/I/E Leaves, Military, and extended unpaid leaves.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with employees, departments, Sponsored Programs, and Provost's Office for appropriate recording of Business Leaves including Sabbaticals, R/I/E, Military, and extended unpaid leaves. Interact daily with all levels of staff to ensure eligibility rules are followed, and leaves/pay are administered and recorded correctly.
Provide support for Purdue Global and Purdue University employees regarding leave requests. Serve as point of contact for policy interpretation and questions related to FMLA, PWFA, PPL, STD/LTD, interpretation. This will include customer service, reviewing leave requests, collecting medical information from health care providers, making eligibility determinations, recording leave and handling follow up for duration. Handle Worker's Compensation and requests for accommodation under ADA for Purdue Global. Handle sensitive, confidential, and complicated matters. Research, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to eligibility, benefits, and overall application of the leave programs, involving others when appropriate. Ensure leaves are accurately recorded and research, troubleshoot and resolve any issues.
Keep up to date on Federal Regulations, policies, procedures, and processes within HR and assist with communicating, educating, troubleshooting, problem solving, and project planning, and implementing various programs.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field
One or more years of HR experience
Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of required education and related experience
Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Ability to work independently, interpret policies and solve problems
Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes
Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, etc.
Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs
Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions
Ability to gather and analyze data to identify trends and propose a course of action based on findings
What Is Helpful:
Experience in HR leaves, absence management or disability management
Ability to work within payroll systems and Microsoft office applications
