Chartwell Law is looking for an experienced self-starting Associate Attorney for our workers' compensation practice group to practice remotely or to be located in one of our many PA offices (Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Scranton, or Valley Forge). Successful applicants will have exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills.
Primary duties include:
File review and legal analysis of workers' compensation claims
Extensive legal research and drafting of client correspondence, discovery devices, summations, appeals and appellate briefs
Annual billable amount of 1950 hours required
Regularly representing clients at depositions and hearings before the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Board
Trial preparation and attendance
Expert witness retention and evaluation
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 year of experience as a practicing attorney
J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school
Admitted to practice in the state of Pennsylvania, other states a plus but not required
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
Solid research abilities and written and oral communication skills
Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage and work in a team environment.
Must respond promptly to e-mail and phone inquiries
Excellent client skills and telephone manner
