Associate Attorney (Tax)

Sorrell Law is a boutique tax, estate planning, and probate firm. We are expanding and building a team of highly experienced professionals to work out of our new office in north Scottsdale, Arizona.

We are looking for an experienced Associate Attorney with a strong background in tax law, IRS rules, business formation, and estate planning. Responsibilities: Represent clients before the IRS in audits, tax court and collection defense cases.

Conduct legal research and analysis to support corporate clients in all aspects of transactional services. Drafting business transactional documents, mergers, reorganizations, acquisitions, and other business transactional documents, and handling a number of general business client transactional issues. Draft and negotiate legal agreements and contracts.

Draft estate planning documents, form LLCs and draft custom operating agreements. Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents. Compensation: Production-based pay structure with performance bonus.

Salary range is $85,000 - $120,000 Requirements: 3-5 years of experience in tax matters, transactional business matters and/or estate planning Strong tax background (CPA preferred) Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client counseling skills Active member of the Arizona State Bar Skills: Strong legal research skills using resources such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw. Proficient in legal administrative tasks, including document management and case organization.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective negotiations with clients, opposing counsel, and judges. Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, concise advice. Strong drafting skills for preparing legal documents.
