We are seeking an Associate Accountant who will support the Finance Department and company leadership team by managing key accounting responsibilities. The Associate Accountant will be well-versed in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and be able to work in a detailed oriented fast-paced environment. The Associate Accountant will assist in the monthly and annual close process including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and schedules as a part of a global organization. Position will work directly with the Accounting Manager to assist with monthly financial statement preparation and closing, including journal entries, general ledger review and financial statement comparisons and analysis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and post journal entries

  • Prepare monthly accruals

  • Manage key aspects of the month end closing process

  • Review and update accounting policies and internal controls

  • Assist Accounting Manager with internal audits

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and intercompany accounts

  • Support financial control and SOX testing for compliance

  • Analyze financial data and prepare financial reports for senior leadership team

  • Support management through data collection, analysis and special projects

  • Analyze and calculate sales commission payments

  • Manage key business systems and develop custom reports

  • Responding to inquiries and providing support to multiple departments across the business make recommendations in all areas for process improvement

  • Regularly analyze payroll reports

  • Assist leading special team projects

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree (in Accounting) and a minimum of 5 years accounting experience in a related field.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, organizational and detail implementation skills

  • Financial modeling a plus

  • Attention to details and problem solving

  • Attention to deadlines

  • Knowledge of US GAAP and Revenue Recognition principles a plus

  • Experience in Sarbanes Oxley Internal Controls

  • Leadership skills

  • Excellent time management skills

  • CPA Preferred

  • Master degree preferred

  • Public Accounting audit experience preferred

  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills. Experience with Access

  • Must be self-motivating with a positive outlook and focused on quality work. Plan day in an organized manner and pays attention to details and accuracy.

  • Ability to collect information, identify and diagnose problems.

  • Ability to work independently

  • Must be comfortable communicating with upper management and internal departments.

Duties and Responsibilities: Create general journal entries and accruals Assist in month and year-end close procedures including account analysis and reconciliation Analyze financial data including trend analysis and current versus historical.
