Associate Accountant

Job Description Job Description The General Wholesale Company is seeking an Associate Accountant to support our corporate office's accounting and finance functions. The Associate Accountant will prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and perform special projects as needed.

This will require a working knowledge and experience with general ledger and USGAAP . The Associate Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and financial reporting support tasks. This is a full-time on-premise position at our corporate office located at 615 Stonehill Drive SW, Atlanta, Georgia, 30336. Office hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Work on Holidays and Weekends may occasionally be required based on business needs. Duties · Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing supporting work papers, and creating and entering journal entries. · Prepare monthly assigned balance sheet reconciliations and related supporting schedules. · Approving and processing invoices for payment. · Assist with the annual/other audit processes as required. · Support operations as necessary with reconciliations, analysis, and financial interpretation. · Completion of government surveys and reporting as required. · Maintain fixed asset schedules. Experience and Background · Associate degree in Accounting or equivalent experience. · 3 – 4 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience. · Thorough knowledge of GAAP. · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Excel. · Knowledge and use of Encompass is a strong plus.

Special Requirements · Ability to reliably commute to the office Monday – Friday. · Consent to and pass pre-employment drug screening. · Consent to a criminal background check.
