ASSOC. SOFTWARE ENGINEER:

MasterCard is seeking talented individuals to join our Silicon Alley Emerging Payments Technology team in New York City. Located in the Flatiron District of Manhattan, MasterCard is researching and developing the next generation of products and services to enable consumers to securely, efficiently, and intelligently conduct transactions regardless of channel. Responsibilities:

The Assoc. Software Engineer is a hands-on developer specializing in either application logic or User Interface implementation for both web and mobile web applications. As an Engineer in the Emerging Payments Technology team, you will be responsible for implementing either application logic requirements or user interface elements across multiple products, services, and devices. Working withing an Agile development methodology, you will collaborate with other engineers and work closely with the team technical lead to deliver and exceptional user experience for our customers. In addition, you'll have the opportunity to work with new frameworks and technologies, assist with prototyping and proof-of-concepts, participate in code reviews, and help ensure a high level of code quality from the team.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong relationship, collaborative, and organization skills.

  • Experience translating functional product requirements into code within traditional web applications.

  • For JAVA Engineers: Java, J2EE, JSON/XML, PCF, AWS and Web Services (REST and SOAP) required, with exposure to Spring Framework (SpringMVC, SpringSecurity, Awareness, etc.) , JPA, JSF, JUNIT, log4j, JBoss, SQL and NoSQL strongly desired.

In addition to the above skills, the following experience is highly desireable:

  • Agile/SCRUM methodologies

  • E-commerce experience

  • Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration

  • Test Driven Development (TDD)

  • DevOps Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related technology-specific discipline.

About You: Intent Media is looking for bright and ambitious Senior Software Engineer to bring their fresh perspective to our team of thoroughly awesome humans and dogs. * Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or any other engineering field * 5+ years of progressive experience in software development and testing * You are proficient in Manual Testing, Agile, Test Driven Development, Test Cases, Test Planning, Stress Testing, Load Testing, Functional Testing and Regression Testing * You have demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of delivering working software, including analysis, design, automated testing, continuous integration and continuous deployment * You are proficient in working on all aspects of delivering working software, including analysis, design, automated testing, CI/CD, operations and support * You have a working knowledge of a JVM based language like Java or Scala but you aren't dogmatic about tools, instead you use the best tool for the job * You are proficient in writing and analyzing SQL queries * You have experience in working with AWS (AWS Lambda, Kinesis, API Gateway, ECS, Redshift, etc) * Extra credit if you love functional programming!
