Reporting to the SVP of Engineering and Technology, the Associate Director of Engineering and Technology (E&T) Operations is an individual contributor role responsible for managing and organizing cross department E&T initiatives & innovation projects to understand OPEX, CAPEX, IT and portfolio impacts to overall investments and resources allocation, technical transfer, and production schedules. The Individual in this role will establish dashboards, metrics, and data to drive and cross-departmental decisions to support deliverables and strategic plans. This includes compiling and translating data and analysis into actionable information; regularly reviewing trends and revising KPIs where appropriate; and project timeline tracking as needed. The position will leverage work across multiple constitutes - E&T leaders, Engineering PM, ADPM, Finance, Legal, EH&S, HR and E&T committees - to ensure efficiencies through partnering rather than duplication of work. Individual will be responsible for synthesizing information into summary reports (e.g. CEO, PO&T mthly reports) to support PO&T goals. May develop and maintain self-service analytics tools to deploy across the organization (like LIMS data tools), and/or offer VMO or other administrative support to respective E&T departments.
Manages and organizes all cross-department E&T initiatives to ensure efficiency, alignment, and implications to OPEX, CAPEX, and technology. This includes defining key tech goals and track outcomes against FTE and capital allocation.
Develop and generate dashboard and metrics to create understanding of the E&T business across departments to drive decision making, plans, and deliverables. (e.g. cycle times across groups, program transitions)
Drive standardization of the resource models (e.g. Clarity) to create the plans for future deployment.
Partner with various experts in PM Engineering, IT, HR, Finance, ADPM, EH&S, and Legal to leverage existing metrics and operations to propose solutions that drive Lean and Simply operations in E&T. This includes developing / maintaining self-service analytics tools with IT to deploy across the E&T organization to increase efficiencies
Collect information on how existing equipment is being deployed and explore creative approaches (e.g. open labs) increase ROA while supporting needs of Technical staff.
Other duties as assigned to support training/safety compliance and contract administrative support.
A minimum of 10 experience in Project Management or Analytical role within Biotech, Pharma or equivalent industry.
Knowledge of all aspects of capital projects.
Excellent leadership, project management, organization, communication, and inter-personal skills are required.
This position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a Technical field with MBA preferable.
