Essential Duties

1.Working with the CCOO, the Associate CCOO develops and operationalizes the strategies for achieving and maintaining top decile in patient experience. 2. The ACCOO is also responsible for developing a patient safety program with the CCO, CMO, and Senior Director of Compliance, including accreditation readiness (e.g., Joint Commission) and infection prevention.3.

Oversees member services, developing key strategies to ensure benefit dissemination and member experience with the health plan and healthcare facility are top decile as measured with objective surveys.4. Develop key strategies to capture member experience and implement performance improvement strategies to achieve top decile nationally in patient experience and service excellence programs.5. Oversees member experience advisory councils (PFAC and SAC).6.

Develop and implement a high-performing service recovery program. 7. Oversees and ensures applicable state and federal regulatory agencies requirements are met in clinical areas.8. Directs operations related to infection-related regulations from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), as well as operationalizing guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This includes regulatory requirements for reporting to the CDC's National Healthcare Safety Network and State reporting.9.

Working with key Yale Health and University leadership, oversees key programs such as antibiotic stewardship, including educational programs, annual IPACs (Risk Assessments), policies and procedures for surveillance, pandemic preparedness, hand hygiene, standard precautions, transmission-based precautions, and outbreak management,10. Directs the review and reporting of patient safety-related incidents, including the identification of trends and appropriate performance improvement initiatives.11. Facilitates the implementation of best-practice clinical process improvement initiatives to assure safe patient care.

Provides expertise in data collection, reporting methodologies, and ongoing monitoring to ensure sustained process improvement.12. Reports safety and regulatory compliance activities/status at leadership meetings.13. Mentors, coaches, and develops staff in all roles to ensure internal workforce development and foster a culture of professional growth.14. Direct interventions to assure appropriate resource expenditure within quality guidelines.

Required Education and Experience

Master's degree in nursing or related field and a minimum of 10 years of experience with responsibilities commensurate with the position in a provider group, health plan/managed care setting, health system, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reporting to the Chief Clinical Operations Officer, the Associate Chief Clinical Operations Officer for Patient Experience and Clinical Safety develops and operationalizes key strategies related to patient experience and clinical safety activities of Yale Health. This includes patient experience, member services, service recovery, patient safety, infection prevention and regulatory operational compliance. Participates in administrative on-call rotation.
