The Associate Area Manager is responsible for supporting the Area Manager by providing operational direction for day-to-day route operations including coordinating route coverage truck management merchandiser supervision and new hire onboarding. This position will also provide route coverage when needed.

Coordinates route coverage for market based on established guidelines. Provides relief coverage for vacations and open positions as needed including occasional travel outside home market. Manages merchandiser scheduling; addresses scheduling requests and participates in merchandiser hiring and onboarding process.

Manages and approves merchandiser hours and mileage; manages merchandiser budget. Manages truck operations for market including inspections training and commentary drives scheduling preventive maintenance coordinating repairs and rentals working with truck vendor partner(s) and managing driver scorecard with emphasis on safety. Monitors daily route operations in DSD software; addresses issues and answers questions from team members as needed.

Provides direction and coaching to frontline team members; provides performance feedback for team members to Area Manager. Participates in interview and ride days for prospective frontline candidates. Coordinates new hire onboarding and training to include coordination of equipment and materials CDL school scheduling (as needed) online training completion and confirmation of onboarding schedule.

Works closely with Sr Route Relief Driver to coordinate in-market onboarding schedule. Participates in special projects and assignments as needed. Maintains compliance with all DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations as well as Company safety regulations policies and procedures including reporting and record keeping. Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission values code of ethics policies and other standards of conduct.


Education: High school diploma or equivalent Years of Related Experience: 3-5 years of related experience Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Must meet Federal Department of Transportation driver eligibility and medical certification requirements and must possess a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) from state of residence. Must have a mobile device with voice and text capabilities Must be willing and able to work weekends and travel as needed Strong analytical and problem solving skills; Ability to operate and maintain company equipment including handhelds computers etc; Effective oral and written communication skills; Strong time management and organizational skills Other
