Job Description:

Serves students entitled to special education services/504 accommodations across all levels (Preschool-21) who require universal, targeted, and intensive intervention. Responsible for assessments for assistive technology, reporting on findings, consulting with school teams to plan intervention and collect data, training other professionals and team members, as well as students. Develops and promotes good community relations among various district and community clientele.

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):

Responsibilities:

  • -- Attend training sessions, conferences, seminars, department and district meetings to keep abreast of changing developments, trends, assistive, instructional, and educational technologies.
  • -- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • -- Provide itinerant district-wide assistive technology consultation, coaching and implementation of communication programming including augmentative, and alternative communication techniques and assistive technology to all stakeholders.
  • -- Establish and maintain effective cooperative relationships with school personnel, students, and parents.
  • -- Have strong aptitude to program communication devices, and learn new technologies as they evolve.
  • -- Work collaboratively to plan for Individual Education Programs that implement evidenced based differentiated and innovative instruction aligned to the Guaranteed Viable Curriculum (GVC's) to support academic growth, positive social relationships, functional communication, and positive behavior for learning to promote educational access.
  • -- Coordinate the delivery of AT services with classroom teachers, special education staff and other providers to ensure continuity and consistency in providing comprehensive special education services to students.
  • -- Perform other clerical and technology duties to include loading software onto devices and troubleshooting software and equipment.

  • *All salary amounts listed on the schedules are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
