Assisted Outpatient Treatment Coordinator

Hiring Range: $26.89 - $33.61 Per Hour

This is a full-time position, on-site in Bremerton, WA.

General Summary of Duties: Assisted Outpatient Treatment is a newer community-based behavioral health treatment option that is available under civil court commitment. The Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) Coordinator position will serve as the facilitator of the AOT program that targets adults with serious mental illness who have had difficulty engaging in ongoing treatment. This role includes advocacy, monitoring, and assistance in developing a plan to enhance the quality of life in areas of family, socialization, work/education, and healthcare to clients being served through AOT. This role assists clients and their families with housing, community resources and benefits as well as coordinate care among multiple service providers such as the AOT Court, mental health and/or substance use treatment teams, and health care providers as needed. The AOT Coordinator is a positive team player that promotes a culture of inclusion and participation.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Major Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of Assisted Outpatient Treatment Programs at KMHS

  • Provide education and outreach to KMHS Outpatient Teams and other Community-based behavioral health providers (Kaiser, PCHS, etc.) regarding AOT.

  • Develop relationships with community partners, including court personnel, community hospitals, law enforcement, family members, and other community resources as needed, communicating pertinent information as needed

  • Attend and actively participate in Agency and community meetings as required; provider training for community partners, and present at education forums as required.

  • Monitor service delivery and compliance with court ordered treatment

  • Serve as liaison between clients, the recovery team, and the court.

  • In addition to the above, any other responsibilities appropriate to the position and not specifically listed in the job description.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Services or Behavioral Health Field

EXPERIENCE: Specialist (minimum 4 years of relevant experience)

4 years relevant work experience in crisis outreach, behavioral health treatment court, high-intensity outpatient behavioral health treatment (PACT, ACT etc.), or similar settings

Working understanding of community crisis systems and community-based models of care that reduce hospitalization, incarceration, and support a person's recovery

This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in the state of Washington, and have reliable, insured transportation.

LICENSURE: Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of current trends in community mental health, including health care reform and automation of job tasks using computer technology.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of mental health rehabilitation standards.

SKILLS:

  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, clients, organizations, and the public.

  • Communication ‑ Communicates clearly and concisely.

  • Computer skills ‑ Ability to operate a personal computer, fax machine, printer, and copier proficiently.

ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed productivity standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a team member.

  • Able to assist in building positive working relationships with staff of all agency departments.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment: Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods.

Mental/Physical Requirements: While performing the job duties, the employee must walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, talk, or listen.
