ROLE of the POSITION

The School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track Faculty-In-Residence of Clinical Sciences position available Fall 2019. This position serves as the lead periodontist and reports to the Chair of Clinical Sciences.

Responsibilities include overseeing the periodontal education for pre-doctoral dental students in the classroom, simulation lab, and clinical settings, including performing periodontal surgeries. Teaching responsibilities include calibrating periodontists, general dentists, and hygienists to contemporary, evidence-based periodontal care.

Additional responsibilities include course directorship, mentoring students, engaging in scholarly work, and participating in service activities that support the Department, School of Dental Medicine, and University. This position requires a high degree of organizational skills, a working knowledge of evidence-based dentistry, a high level of emotional intelligence, the ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

The UNLV School of Dental Medicine is strongly community-oriented and encourages faculty involvement in the school's various community programs. QUALIFICATIONS

Required: This position requires a DMD or DDS from an accredited college or university and specialty education in Periodontics.

Must be eligible for licensure in Nevada. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

Required: 5-8 years of experience in a dental education environment and Board certification in Periodontics.

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
