Faculty member will teach graduate and undergraduate courses of physical chemistry. Candidates at the Associate and Full Professor ranks must have a well-developed research portfolio with evidence of multi-disciplinary applications and external funding.

Minimum Qualifications

A Ph.D. in chemistry is required. Demonstrated experience working in or fostering a diverse environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Post-doctoral experience is strongly encouraged.

Special Requirements

The Department of Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University invites applications for a tenure-track, open rank position in Physical Chemistry to begin in fall 2020. Candidates are required to have an established research agenda and clear potential for extramural funding as well as potential for nationally-recognized scholarship in Physical Chemistry that complements or expands existing expertise in the Department of Chemistry.

Teaching will primarily be in undergraduate and graduate courses in Physical Chemistry.

Those candidates with theoretical/computational chemistry interests especially in biophysical chemistry and nanoscience as applied to biology and medicine are encouraged to apply.
