Job Description:

The Radiology service at LSU Vet Med currently a team of radiologists, four residents, four technologists, and students work together to provide diagnostic imaging for LSU's small and large animal hospitals and to teach at all levels. We are seeking applicants for tenure or clinical track assistant, associate, or full professor positions in radiology.

Flexible options are available for interested candidates. We welcome the opportunity to work with your proposed schedule, including shared appointments with teleradiology services outside LSU. LSU Vet Med values maintaining a strong radiology service and is flexible in accommodating the needs of applicants. We are happy to assist in training to achieve a boarded status, as well.

We offer diagnostic clinical imaging services in all modalities (radiography, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine) and for all species. We teach veterinary students, interns, and residents through lectures, laboratories, and rounds.

Numerous collaborative research opportunities are available to interested candidates. Most importantly, collaborative opportunities exist within and outside the Radiology service each day as we assist each other with clinical cases. Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Diagnostic Imaging- Tenured/Tenure Track

Provide service in all imaging modalities and for all species for Diagnostic Imaging section of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the School of Veterinary Medicine. Participate in didactic and clinical training of students in the professional (DVM) program.

Participate in training of diagnostic imaging residents, and interns within the Diagnostic Imaging section. Participate in scholarly activities within the veterinary clinical sciences department and Diagnostic Imaging section. This position will be clinical-track.

  • 50% Provide diagnostic clinical imaging service in all modalities and for all species.
  • 50% Scholarly activities to include teaching and research

Minimum Qualifications:

Assistant Professor

Minimum Qualifications: DVM

Must have successfully completed a residency training program accredited by ACVR or ECVDI and board certification or board eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Radiology or the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging.

Associate Professor

Minimum Qualifications: DVM

5 years related research/teaching/ clinical experience

Must have board certification by ACVR or ECVDI

Full Professor

Minimum Qualifications: DVM

8 years related research/ teaching/ clinical experience

Must have board certification by ACVR or ECVDI

Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Diagnostic Imaging- Clinical Track

Special and Physical Qualifications (ALL LEVELS):

Per PS 18- This position is a part of the Emergency Response Personnel - these personnel are linked with the hospital during any emergency response event and are expected to report in and perform as outlined in the emergency response plan.

Physical Requirements-Required to be cable of lifting more than 50 pounds, standing or walking for prolonged periods, vision near sight, vision far sight, able to reach below the shoulder, pushing, pulling, grasping, sitting, bending, crawling, squatting, and/or twisting.

  • Due to the nature of this position and/or responsibilities, this position is subject to random drug & alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67*
