School of Dentistry - Faculty Position, Department of Diagnostic Sciences
West Virginia University School of Dentistry in Morgantown, WV is seeking applications for one full-time oral and maxillofacial pathology clinical track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences. Determination of faculty salary and academic rank is within the purview of the Dean and Faculty Evaluation Committee and will be commensurate with qualifications. The Department includes the disciplines of oral and maxillofacial pathology, oral and maxillofacial radiology, oral medicine, forensic odontology and manages a busy urgent care clinic. West Virginia University Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center Campus includes the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health. Located only 80 miles south of Pittsburgh, Morgantown is easily accessible to major metropolitan areas in the East and Midwest and has been named one of the best small cities in the U.S.
The primary responsibility involves didactic teaching in oral and maxillofacial and general pathology. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in and manage a growing biopsy service. The faculty member will also have the opportunity to work in an expanding oral medicine/oncology clinic.
The following required qualifications must be met by the time of appointment:
Dental degree from an institution accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association or foreign equivalent.
Completed an accredited residency program in oral and maxillofacial pathology.
Be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.
Eligibility to obtain a West Virginia dental license or West Virginia teaching permit (Please visit the West Virginia Board of Dental Examiners for information regarding licensure).
Demonstrate effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Evidence of positive leadership skills.
Strong commitment to student development, patient care, academic excellence, service and collegiality.
