Position Function:

The College of Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University is seeking an Assistant, Associate or Full Clinical Professor of Veterinary Neurology

Salary Grade: UC

Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Area of Specialization:

Veterinary Neurology

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The workload for this position will include time allocated for teaching, clinical service, research/scholarly activity, and other service duties. The assignment will be 0.75 clinical services/teaching, 0.10 scholarly/research, and 0.15 other service duties and didactic teaching in the veterinary, graduate, and veterinary technology curricula.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualifications include DVM (or equivalent veterinary degree) and completion of residency training in an ACVIM-approved veterinary neurology residency. ACVIM board certification in veterinary neurology is preferred. Applicant must be eligible to obtain Veterinary Licensure in the State of Mississippi.

Area of Specialization: Emergency Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Teaching responsibilities will involve clinical training for veterinary professional students, house officers and veterinary medical technology students enrolled in the academic program. Service responsibilities involve emergency duty, primary and secondary clinical case management, and consultation with private practitioners. The emergency clinician will be expected to take a leadership role in improving the quality of the emergency service at the MSU Animal Emergency and Referral Center, enhancing the quality of patient care, and teaching in our veterinary student rotations. Participation in continuing education programs is also expected.
