Required Credentials of the Undergraduate Nursing Program Coordinator:
Completion of an approved registered nursing education program in a jurisdiction as defined in paragraph (R) of rule 4723-5-01 of the Administrative Code;
Experience for at least five years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse; minimum of two years as a faculty member in a registered nursing education program;
A master's degree in nursing; doctoral degree highly preferred.
Current, valid licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities & Functions of the Undergraduate Nursing Program Coordinator:
Under the guidance and in consultation with Department of Nursing Director, and within the internal governance procedures of the Department, responsibilities and essential functions include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Assists in administrative responsibility for the undergraduate program; including clinical coordination, management of program and student records.
Assist in preparation of reports and proposals for the department/program.
Orients new faculty and teaching assistants to their respective roles; didactic, clinical, laboratory.
Ensures completion of adjunct faculty/teaching assistant evaluations.
Responds to inquiries from students and external agencies.
Enhance enrollment growth through effective recruitment and retention of students.
Determine admissibility, and transferability of credit for new students; classifies and places students into appropriate clinical rotations.
Assign advisors, as appropriate.
Manage informal complaints.
Represent and advocate for the nursing program.
Teaching responsibilities based on the needs of the program.
Qualifications
Minimum Faculty Qualifications
Earned master's degree in nursing; doctorate degree highly preferred.
A record of achievement sufficient to sustain a credible application for continuation and or tenure with appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Experience for at least five years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse, two of which have been as a faculty member in a registered nursing education program. Experience in Critical Care nursing and education highly preferred.
Licensure as registered nurse in the State of Ohio
Record of successful collaborative leadership, interprofessional collaboration, and community engagement.
