The Department of Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) is seeking outstanding candidates for two Tenure track faculty positions in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics and IU Center for Health Services Research at Regenstrief Institute. The appointments will be made at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor, as appropriate.

Candidates should have an MD/DO and/or PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in health services research, health policy, public health, medical informatics, behavioral and social sciences, clinical research, allied health or a related field. Physician candidates should be ABIM certified or eligible in Internal Medicine and completed a post-doctoral fellowship (general internal medicine, medical informatics, or related field) and have demonstrated competence in research and the practice and teaching of clinical general internal medicine. Applicants are expected to have publications in the field and to have or be eligible for extramural funding and/or career development award funding and to ultimately develop an independent research program in academic general internal medicine.

The Center for Health Services Research at the Regenstrief Institute, together with the Indiana University School of Medicine, seek health services researcher(s) with expertise in the areas of health equity research, learning health systems, data science, cancer health services research, or implementation science. The ideal candidate(s) will possess a strong research background, in areas that may include assessing and addressing social determinants of health, applying frameworks and mixed methods in implementation science, advanced analytics with big data, or real-world experimental designs.

The successful candidates will be instrumental in growing the Division and the Center's culture of collaborative and impactful research.

The candidates will lead or contribute to new, innovative areas of health services research to enhance our scientific enterprise.

The Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, within the Department of Medicine, is one of the largest in the country with over 300 faculty involved in teaching, service, and research.

The division includes primary care, ambulatory medicine, hospital medicine, geriatrics, palliative medicine, global medicine and ethics. Faculty practice at three health systems and are leaders in the research and teaching missions of the IU School of Medicine. Regenstrief Institute is an internationally recognized informatics and healthcare research organization, recognized for its role in improving quality of care, increasing efficiency of healthcare delivery, and using health and healthcare data to solve problems. Regenstrief's scientific community consists of over 85 doctorate-level investigators trained in medicine, biomedical informatics, engineering, social and behavioral sciences, epidemiology, and biostatistics, housed in three collaborative centers (Health Services Research, Aging Research, and Biomedical Informatics).

The Indiana University Center for Health Services Research bridges health services research and health care delivery in health systems, including Indiana University Health, the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center, and the Eskenazi Health safety-net hospital system to improve the delivery and outcomes of health care.

Programmatic research areas include adult medicine, medical and clinical informatics, cancer health services research, mental health, chronic pain, cerebrovascular disease, human factors engineering, health communication, behavioral medicine, and implementation science. The VA HSR&D Center for Health Information & Communication (CHIC) is a VA Center of Innovation whose mission to improve Veterans' health care through innovative research on health information, technology, and communication. The Center has two focused areas of partnered research.

The first area is advancing the use of health information technology with tools that connect systems to people and optimize the flow of health information, to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health care. The second area is advancing how information is used and exchanged at the interpersonal level with Veterans, and between healthcare professionals.
