Summary:
This position will contribute to the research and educational missions of the division by teaching courses within the Program, as well as other duties associated with a full-time faculty appointment in the college. The faculty member's annual assignment is negotiated with the Program Director and is based on the needs of the program.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will hold a faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in CDS. This individual will serve as director for courses in CDS, specifically in the areas of Aphasia, Cognition, and Neurological Sciences.
The candidate will develop a record of research and scholarship that includes extramural funding for research. The candidate will assume the responsibilities of an academic leader at Rush as demonstrated by participation in University, college, departmental, and other professional service activities. The candidate will serve as an effective academic advisor and clinical preceptor to Rush graduate students.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Speech and Hearing Sciences and evidence of teaching and research potential. Candidates should possess the CCC-SLP and be eligible for Illinois licensure in speech-language pathology.
Expertise in aphasia, apraxia of speech, and other acquired cognitive-communication disorders preferred. Past experience of teaching at undergraduate or graduate level is preferred.
