Southeast Toyota Distributors is on the lookout for an Assistant Warehouse Operations Manager to lead our expanding distribution network. The role demands a leader with strong emotional intelligence, adherence to JM Family values, and a track record in coaching. The selected leader will spearhead the setup of two new Parts Distribution Centers in Jacksonville, Florida, and Northeast Atlanta, Georgia.

These new locations will feature the latest systems, requiring ground-up team training and development. The role begins in Jacksonville, with a planned move to Atlanta by late 2024 or early 2025.

The Assistant Warehouse Operations Manager will manage daily operations, focusing on either inbound receiving or outbound pick shifts. Amidst a dynamic setting, this leader will ensure daily goals and essential tasks like equipment management, training, safety, and inventory are met, while also collaborating on strategic initiatives with the leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective leadership for the assigned shift including warehouse supervisors, coordinators, full and part-time SET warehouse associates in a manner that promotes a team environment with a focus on safety, accuracy, quality, productivity, and innovation

  • Support supervisory staff in making production changes and headcount allocations, while working with all levels of management to address issues and initiate corrective actions

  • Boost corporate and facility performance and quality objectives

  • Adhere to corporate and facility safety, fire protection, and environmental initiatives

  • Interface with contract support staff (contingent staffing and our logistics/delivery partner) on issues including, but not limited to, productivity, quality, and staffing

  • Drive associate onboarding, scheduling, and training

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory role within a production or distribution/warehousing environment

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supervising and leading cross-functional teams in a manner that supports the JM Family culture

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or commensurate experience considered

  • Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic

  • Experience recognizing Associate relations' issues and the importance of maintaining confidentiality

  • Must be able to communicate skillfully with associates, all levels of management, and outside vendors/customers verbally or in written communications

  • Ability to demonstrate solid analytical and quantitative skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) required

  • Demonstrated ability to provide innovative solutions to problem-solving efforts

  • Ability to balance multiple initiatives while also delivering results promptly

  • Must be able to work flexible hours that include afternoons and evenings

  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (certification preferred)

  • Our warehouse operates 24 hours a day / 6 days a week; candidates should be willing to work non-traditional hours supporting operations:

Monday through Friday: 5:30 am

  • 2:30 pm

Monday through Friday: 2:00 pm

  • 11:00 pm

Sunday through Thursday: 2:00 pm

  • 11:00 pm
