Assistant Warehouse Manager

Crosstown Plumbing is a successful plumbing store located in East Orange, NJ. We are hiring a driven, experienced AssistantWarehouse Manager to join our growing team! The Assistant Warehouse Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the warehouse operates productively and efficiently by coordinating daily internal dispatch activities to ensure the warehouse team is operating as effectively as possible. We need someone who has a strong background in warehouse management and is skilled in delegating tasks. The Assistant Warehouse Manager position will be focused on people management, is able to motivate our staff, and will encourage productivity. You must have excellent communication skills and be bilingual in Spanish/English. You must also demonstrate integrity and have a reliable presence to succeed in this role. Our ideal candidate is comfortable working in a complex, fast-moving work environment and is able to handle the variety of tasks that are handed to them.

What you’ll do:

• Directly supervise warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Coordinate closely with warehouse staff, drivers, and other departments to ensure seamless coordination of tasks and activities, resolve issues promptly, and minimize delays or errors.
• Monitor the receiving, shipping, storage, and distribution of all items in the warehouse, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper departments.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the warehouse department, implementing new procedures, tools, or technologies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
• Interface with customers to communicate order status, delivery schedules, and any issues or concerns, ensuring a high level of responsiveness and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• 5+ yearsof management experience in a warehouse environment required.

• Must be bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong, assertive personality to hold our teams accountable and ensure customers are receiving our white-glove treatment.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Must be open to occasional weekend work (as needed for coverage).
• Tenacious multi-tasker with the ability to manage variety of responsibilities simultaneously.
• Experienced in performance management and assessing skillsets.
