The Assistant Warehouse Manager works closely with the Warehouse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our facilities and internal warehouse departments. Duties will include management and logistics activities relating to the storage and transportation of goods, facilitate employee training and ensure full safety compliance. Key components of this role will include extensive labor and operations planning and the allocation and scheduling of resources to meet daily operational goals.

At Minimum Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serves as the secondary support for the Warehouse Manager
  • Substitutes for all warehouse department supervisors and managers as needed
  • Provides generalized support for all internal operations inquiries, comments and questions
  • Assists in the creation and enforcement of all warehouse related standard operating procedures and processes
  • Arranges sub-contractor labor as needed
  • Creates recommended weekly departmental labor forecasts
  • Controls department expenses to be in alignment with set department budgets
  • Participates in active management driving warehouse departments to complete daily tasks, objectives, and projects within budget and in a timely manner
  • Collects and reviews mandatory departmental reports
  • Coordinates inter-company transfer of product among warehouses
  • Oversees fleet management, maintenance and cost control of company vehicles
  • Oversees proper warehouse maintenance, housekeeping and organization
  • Maintains full compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory safety, labor, workers compensation and health requirements
  • Serves as the primary safety coordinator for the company
  • Oversees the management of warehouse consumable inventories
  • Comprehends and complies with the company employee handbook
  • Selects, trains, motivates and develops warehouse employees to ensure continuity of operations
  • Oversees and tracks employee performance as per departmental KPIs
  • Performs other projects, administrative and operations duties as required

Requirements

At Minimum Training, Education & Experience

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of warehouse operations management experience
  • Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel
  • This position does require some weekend hours
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and team driven
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to constant change
  • Must have a valid Drivers License with clear driving record
  • Special event, party rental or moving/transfer industry experience preferred
