About the Position: The work for this position will take place on the National Museum of the United States Army (NMUSA) campus in an office environment with limited time spent at recruiting and special events, which will be both indoor and outdoor. The applicant can expect to assist with recruiting, training and managing volunteers on a daily basis. They can also expect to assist with other visitor service functions as required in support of the larger NMUSA mission.

Provide support with planning with executing program goals and objectives.
Identify content of volunteers? competency assessment folders, and training needs of volunteers.
Assist in determining the appropriate use of volunteers and provides liaison services between volunteers, administration, and the community.
Provide technical support for the execution of the NMUSA Volunteer operation.
Assist in presenting the NMUSA mandatory training of volunteer staff, and promotes staff education and training.
Develop and maintain community contacts with civic and base organizations, professional organizations and other service oriented organizations to locate sources for volunteer services.
Assist with the overall operation and coordination of the NMUSA Volunteer Services Program.
Occasional travel - Business travel maybe required 10% of the time.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Specialized experience is defined as:Assisting with the development of short and long range plans to develop an effective volunteer program; Collaborating with a variety of individuals to obtain support of the mission and resolve problems; and participating in the development of mandatory training for volunteer staff.
Completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a
field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Museum Study or Administration Management. .

Have the specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have at least one year of graduate education as described in B, but less than the
