GA Foods is seeking an Assistant Unit Manager to assist and support Unit catering/distribution operations as directed by the Production Unit Manager and present on site in manager's absence. The Assistant Unit Manager assists with monitoring of food production and inventory, ensuring food safety and sanitation, problem solving and troubleshooting, and assists to ensure timely food production and distribution in the most cost-efficient and effective manner meeting all food safety, quality and quantity standards. In addition, they must maintain effective Customer Relationship Management with contracting Agencies and customers, assist with complete facility and fleet maintenance operations, and supervise employees and associated tasks, including training and development, and ensure employee safety. Assistant Unit Manager Essential Functions:

  • Assist with oversight of daily food production operations

  • Ensure accurate recipe and portioning controls

  • Proper quantity and quality of meals

  • Mentor and train direct reports

  • Interaction with customers

  • Problem-solving

  • Provide support with packing, distribution, warehouse/inventory control

  • Perform necessary recordkeeping and other reports as required

  • Assist with compilation of management reporting, including but not limited to month-end inventory control and reporting

  • Assist with route development to meet growth and efficiency models

  • Oversee special production runs

  • Ensure that food safety, sanitation guidelines, HACCP, GMP's and other compliance/regulatory requirements are maintained along with appropriate temperature controls

  • Ensure DOT compliance and maintain required recordkeeping

  • Ensure labor productivity and other standards are met

  • Assist with troubleshooting customer and program issues pertaining to menu and performance, including coordination w/RD

  • Attend customer menu meetings and in-service as required

  • Assist with purchasing, inventory control, food service ordering and preparation, sanitation and quality assurance, food and employee safety, facilities and grounds maintenance

  • Other duties assigned by management.

Assistant Unit Manager

Requirements:
  • Proven 1+ years Food Service Supervisory experience, institutional a plus

  • Proven training and experience in quantity food preparation procedures, food purchasing, food service management, and food safety and sanitation

  • Documented training in HACCP or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's); Current ServSafe certification

  • Working knowledge of of the Elderly Nutrition Program (ENP) requirements and applicable Federal, State, and Local food laws and regulations a plus

  • Personal Computer: MS Office, Windows, Excel

  • MRP/ERP systems; General Office Equipment

  • Good Supervisory Skills, Effective Verbal, Written and Oral Communication Skills, Customer Relations Management, Team Building and Staff Supervision Skills

Job Summary: In this position you will be responsible for assisting with all areas of the Fire Fabrication Shop. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Interact daily with supervisor and manager to assist them with assembling job plans and paperwork, equipment submittals, and assure all inventory of pipe and fittings are updated electronically * Maintain and update welder database and spreadsheets for fabrication shop, field welder's/operators manual * Maintain various division file information such as time sheets and project archives * Payroll for all shop employees, scan wage slips to payroll department * Distribute checks to supervisors / employees * Maintain attendance records and employee files * Weekly attendance and overtime sheets for supervisors * Incoming foreman's kits: Print out drawings, stamp and highlight, print out stock lists and label files * Communicate with designers on stock list errors, material ordering, etc. * Log in date to shop, weights, welds into job track * Keep an updated truck schedule at all times * Send out weekly email to designers for needed stock lists * Update pipe inventory database with all incoming and outgoing pipe * IRT's coordinate by UPS or add to trucks * Incoming calls and calls from dispatchers for delivery of pipes and materials * Ordering shop and office supplies * Help HR with obtaining benefit work for current employees and new hires, Also any needed employee information for HR * Log and printout employee badges * Log in all incoming applications and set up interviews when needed * Maintain spreadsheet for safety hours * Assist shop manager and supervisors as needed * Other duties as assigned Qualifications: * High School Diploma or equivalent * 3-5 years minimum of administrative office experience * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Dependable * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel * Lotus Notes experience preferred, but not required * Must be able to multi-task and be very organized * Must be a self-starter and able to work with diverse group of construction personnel * Proficient with time management #CB1 Visit us at www.Shambaugh.com to learn "What we do and How we do it."
