GA Foods is seeking an Assistant Unit Manager to assist and support Unit catering/distribution operations as directed by the Production Unit Manager and present on site in manager's absence. The Assistant Unit Manager assists with monitoring of food production and inventory, ensuring food safety and sanitation, problem solving and troubleshooting, and assists to ensure timely food production and distribution in the most cost-efficient and effective manner meeting all food safety, quality and quantity standards. In addition, they must maintain effective Customer Relationship Management with contracting Agencies and customers, assist with complete facility and fleet maintenance operations, and supervise employees and associated tasks, including training and development, and ensure employee safety. Assistant Unit Manager Essential Functions:

  • Assist with oversight of daily food production operations

  • Ensure accurate recipe and portioning controls

  • Proper quantity and quality of meals

  • Mentor and train direct reports

  • Interaction with customers

  • Problem-solving

  • Provide support with packing, distribution, warehouse/inventory control

  • Perform necessary recordkeeping and other reports as required

  • Assist with compilation of management reporting, including but not limited to month-end inventory control and reporting

  • Assist with route development to meet growth and efficiency models

  • Oversee special production runs

  • Ensure that food safety, sanitation guidelines, HACCP, GMP's and other compliance/regulatory requirements are maintained along with appropriate temperature controls

  • Ensure DOT compliance and maintain required recordkeeping

  • Ensure labor productivity and other standards are met

  • Assist with troubleshooting customer and program issues pertaining to menu and performance, including coordination w/RD

  • Attend customer menu meetings and in-service as required

  • Assist with purchasing, inventory control, food service ordering and preparation, sanitation and quality assurance, food and employee safety, facilities and grounds maintenance

  • Other duties assigned by management.

Assistant Unit Manager

  • Proven 1+ years Food Service Supervisory experience, institutional a plus

  • Proven training and experience in quantity food preparation procedures, food purchasing, food service management, and food safety and sanitation

  • Documented training in HACCP or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's); Current ServSafe certification

  • Working knowledge of of the Elderly Nutrition Program (ENP) requirements and applicable Federal, State, and Local food laws and regulations a plus

  • Personal Computer: MS Office, Windows, Excel

  • MRP/ERP systems; General Office Equipment

  • Good Supervisory Skills, Effective Verbal, Written and Oral Communication Skills, Customer Relations Management, Team Building and Staff Supervision Skills

VIEW JOBS 2/14/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-14T00:00 The Permitting and Compliance Specialist will be responsible for maintaining and managing day-to-day health, safety, emergency response, environmental compliance, and security activities in support of terminal operations in the Southeast Region. Duties include, but are not limited to: The position calls for quick and efficient responses to EHS managers when called upon for assistance with minimal supervision. Technical support for handling health, safety, training and industrial hygiene issues for identified Bulk/Liquid facilities.Environmental compliance, compliance programs, procedures, and policies associated with federal, state, and local regulations and acts as a liaison with external legal and regulatory personnel and agencies. Provide expertise for local management regarding safety, health, environmental and security regulations, while taking action in promoting our safety culture (SQE) at every level of the organization. Provide expert compliance support for Kinder Morgan Terminal policies and procedures Prepare/review and implement facility-specific EHS manuals, programs, procedures, and standards and assist with development and oversight of safety and environmental and emergency response training.Lead the safety teams at individual facilities and participate as required in the EHS assessment program.Prepare, coordinate and implement health and safety management, oversight, and strategic plans and procedures.Maintain communication with peers in the industry, regulatory agencies, and trade organizations Provide internal consulting and support to sales, operations and management staff throughout Kinder Morgan Terminal for permitting and regulatory compliance.Advise commercial / sales staff regarding EHS implications associated with storage and transfer of new commodities Coordinate health and safety audits and agency inspections.Conduct formal assessments of all EHS programs and security audits.Maintain all required EHS records; Permitting - research needs, identify conditions, prepare applications, manage compliance with permit conditions, resolve issues; Manage waste program; Regulatory inspection programs.Participate in Technical Working Groups; industry and trade association initiatives and workgroups; implement compliance strategies as required.Coordinate the delivery and management of the terminals' onsite contractor safety program.Federal / State / Local rule and regulation review, interpretation and implementation.Spend up to 80% of working hours in the field, observing operations, training, and assisting operations with auditing and inspections.This position is a strong link between operations and management staff which requires handling multiple projects and issues with short deadlines.Provide support and/or oversight to field operations on safe work practices and industrial hygiene programs.Facilitate “root cause” analysis of reported incidents, such as near misses, personal injury, DOT, or vehicle accidents.Provide health and safety support to regional, commercial, engineering, and maintenance projects.Submit and adhere to annual budgetary constraints. The position is based in Trinity (Decatur) Alabama and will report to the Southeast Region, Western Terminals EHS Manager. Position Requirements Minimum Requirements: 5 years of Safety work experience. Education:Bachelors’ degree in a Safety related field preferred Certification, licenses, and registrations:Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and have the willingness to use personal and/or company vehicles in the course of employment.Be an OSHA Outreach Instructor in the general industry or qualified to obtain the credentials within 60 days of hire. Additional requirements:Through understanding of OSHA 1910, 1917 and 1918 standards.Familiar with DOT and USGC regulations.Working knowledge of SPCC and SWPPPBasic understanding of air and water permits. Must pass and complete safety training /certification as required by customers to work in their facilities and as required by Kinder Morgan.Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones; such as background checks by both the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Card, TWIC.
