The Assistant Treasurer manages the daily bank liquidity activities and reports on these activities daily, monthly and quarterly. Completes monthly and quarterly reporting to BOD and regulatory reports; assists with forecasting and budget preparation and actual vs budget reporting to the Board of Directors Additional responsibilities include monitoring, understanding and following generally accepted accounting principles, bank policies and procedures, including SOX controls, and bank and tax regulatory reporting rules for both the finance department and the areas the individual is responsible for to properly reflect and report on the financial position of the Bank. Ensures department activities run smoothly and efficiently; ensures compliance with Bank policies and procedures and is responsible for suggesting improvements and recommends and initiates corrective actions and future improvements; and assists in attaining established Bank and department goals. Is expected to provide leadership, training and guidance to less experienced staff members in the finance department.


The following duties are primarily performed and which are essential for this position.   • Manages daily liquidity, including purchase/sale of Fed Funds and FHLB borrowing, including preparation of quarterly FHLB collateral certificate and ongoing maintenance of customer letter of credits.

  • Complete monthly and quarterly Federal Reserve reporting.

  • Responsible for overseeing the accounting for the Bank's investing and wholesale borrowing activities, including quarterly SEC reporting on these activities and external audit requests.

  • Prepares monthly Board of Directors financial report, and quarterly regulatory report.

  • Monitors and reports on budget and actual variances.

  • Assists in the quarterly forecasting and annual budget process, largely focusing on investing and wholesale borrowing activities, non-interest income and expense, regulatory capital calculations and associated analytical review of the items discussed above.

  • Prepares quarterly Asset and Liability Committee package.

  • Provides data and assumptions for third party preparation of quarterly interest rate risk analysis.

  • Key member of the finance team involved in Assists in the monthly financial close process, including analyzing, explaining and documenting analyzing, transactions related to liquidity, investments and wholesale borrowing and other assigned areas.

  • Assists other branch and department offices in resolving accounting inquiries and providing staff support.

  • Assists in the formulation of internal controls and related policies to comply with new regulatory guidance.

  • Reviews, recommends and initiates corrective actions for key controls over financial reporting assigned to individual.

  • Manage journal entries, invoices, etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing.

  • Develops, tests and implements policies and procedures (manual and computerized) pertaining to the maintenance of accurate accounting records and report preparation.

  • Maintains advanced knowledge and awareness of financial industry status and trends.

  • Assumes responsibility for various department functions in the absence of staff members or in overload situations.

  • Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports the Bank's goals and values; benefits the Bank through outside activities.

  • Works ethically and with integrity.

  • Assures compliance with all Bank policies, procedures and processes, and all applicable banking regulations.

  • Perform other related duties as requested.



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

  • Note: Three (3) years of directly related accounting experience may be considered in lieu of the Associate degree.

  • Three (10) years of accounting and/or treasury experience.

  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience

  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Excel.


  • CPA Preferred

  • Must successfully pass criminal background check.

  • Must successfully pass credit background check.
