Department Summary
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) serves as the campus community mental health center for students. The mission of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is to support student development, empowerment and success through connection with dedicated clinicians who provide treatment that encourages Health, Healing and Hope.
Short-term, high- quality mental health treatment including assessment, consultation and case management; group and individual therapy; and psychiatry services. Campus mental health training and wellness education Training and professional development for mental health providers. Connection to community resources and referrals Clinical services are confidential and available to regularly enrolled students.

Qualifications
3+ Years Professional experience in a mental health setting with at least one year in a student counseling or student mental health setting. (Preferred) Demonstrated ability to conduct brief psychotherapy and crisis intervention. (Required)Demonstrated skills in consultation work with professional and non-professional colleagues. (Required)Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication. (Required)Demonstrated ability to evaluate and intervene with severely disturbed students. (Required)Demonstrated ability to supervise interns and junior staff. (Preferred)Knowledge of applicable laws and ethics pertaining to mental health. (Required)Demonstrated skills in providing outreach and prevention services. (Required)Demonstrated multicultural competence. (Required)Knowledge of developmental issues in University populations. (Required)Demonstrated ability to work as a team member in an interdisciplinary environment (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
PhD in counseling or clinical psychology from an APA-approved program and completion of an APA accredited internship (Required) Licensed in a Behavioral Health counseling discipline (Note: if supervision is an assigned duty, state law requires a minimum of 1 year post-licensure) (Required)
