The Orting School District is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Track & Field Coach at Orting Middle School. Orting Middle School, a member of the Plateau League, is committed to providing excellence in all of its extra-curricular programs. The assistant coach will be responsible for supporting the head coach who oversees and runs the entire middle school wrestling program.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Experience in coaching/participating in track and field
Knowledge of track and field techniques and strategies
Be able to meet all W.I.A.A. requirements for the Washington State Coaching Standards
Ability to communicate positively and effectively with students, parents, staff and community members
Effective written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills necessary to run a solid middle school program
Successful experience working with teenage athletes
Ability to motivate teens to reach their highest potential academically through sportsmanship
Experience preferred
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Be high school graduate or have completed a graduation equivalency diploma (GED) program
Be at least 19 years of age to be an assistant coach
Flexible Schedule
Must be available immediately after school

Location: Orting Middle School
Work Year: 2024-2025 Middle School Fall Season: 9/3/24 - 10/21/24
Work Start: Middle school dismissal is 2:25PM, M-Th and 12:55PM on F

For coaching positions, eligibility for benefits is determined by a number of factors, including the number of hours an employee worked during the last two (2) school years (September 1 through August 31). Coaching positions may not be benefit eligible. Benefits are administered through the Payroll Department. Additional information is available on their district webpage. Regular employees who are also in coaching position(s) and are anticipated to work 630 hours or more in a year are eligible for the following benefits: medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, long-term disability and the employee assistance program.
