Are you a highly organized and proactive individual with a passion for supporting leadership and driving strategic initiatives? South Dakota State University (SDSU) is seeking an Assistant to the Vice President for our division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. We are looking for a people-centered professional to join our dynamic team and provide essential support to the Vice President and division leaders. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing our Student Affairs and Enrollment Management efforts while delivering exceptional customer service and fostering an efficient, collaborative work environment. This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota and is a 12-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide comprehensive administrative and project management support to the Vice President and division leaders, ensuring they are well-prepared for student affairs and enrollment management responsibilities. This role involves coordinating logistics, assisting with data collection and research for strategic initiatives, and preparing various documents and materials. Deliver excellent customer service by managing communication systems and addressing stakeholder inquiries effectively. Support the administrative functions of the division by developing efficient work processes, managing office operations, supervising part-time employees, and anticipating the needs of division leaders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree completed by first day of employment or 8 years of related work experience;

  • At least one year of experience in project management, office management or other related work;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;

  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills;

  • Strong commitment to customer service;

  • Strong interpersonal skills;

  • Ability to work as a contributing team member.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated project management experience; and

  • Demonstrated office management experience.
