The University of Virginia School of Law seeks a full-time Assistant to the Dean. The incumbent will manage the Dean's travel and meeting schedule, workflow, and correspondence; prepare expense reimbursement requests; and research subjects of interest to the Dean. The Assistant will work as part of a team with another administrative assistant in the Dean's Office to support the Dean, the Senior Associate Dean for Administration, and the Dean's Chief of Staff. The Assistant will also serve as the point of contact for the Dean's Office to greet visitors, handle internal and external requests, and answer the telephone.
A High School Diploma with at least four years of relevant administrative support experience is required. A Bachelor's Degree and/or High School Diploma with some college course work is preferred. Candidates must possess a strong working knowledge of administrative procedures. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is also required.
Candidates for this position must be able to:

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with proper grammar and usage,
Interact with a range of individuals professionally and with an awareness of appropriate protocols,
Handle multiple and competing priorities simultaneously,
Track projects and ensure that requests for information and reports are met on time,
Maintain confidentiality and exercise excellent judgment, and
Exhibit an ability to be flexible, composed under pressure, and consistently professional.
