Assistant Teaching Professor
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) Department at Iowa State University (ISU) seeks candidates for a term faculty position to teach engineering core courses at the undergraduate level.
The successful candidate is envisioned to be a skilled and enthusiastic educator who is able to use an appropriate mix of traditional and innovative approaches, including asynchronous learning, to deliver the fundamentals of civil engineering and engineering mechanics. This person will teach courses at the undergraduate level, advise undergraduate students, participate in technical committees and outreach activities, and exhibit a commitment to inclusivity and diversity. Candidates should have strong communication skills and contribute to the mission of the department. All faculty members are expected to interact collegially and maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
Industry experience in a related field or instructional experience in appropriate technical topics.
Evidence of strong communication skills.

Department/Program & College Description:
The CCEE Department offers B.S. degree programs in civil engineering, civil engineering with environmental engineering emphasis, and construction engineering plus M.S., MEng, and Ph.D. graduate degree programs in civil engineering. CCEE maintains externally funded research in excess of $22 million annually and demonstrates a commitment to diversity among faculty, staff, and students who can enrich University objectives in the areas of research, teaching, and service.
