Assistant Superintendent Of Educational Services

Under direction of the Superintendent or designee, this position will provide leadership to the Educational Services Department in the development and delivery of support services to the district, schools, and other educational agencies to improve student achievement and implement State policy. The Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services, plans, organizes, manages and directs the Child Development, elementary, secondary, and Adult Education instructional programs of the District; plans, organizes, coordinates and manages the instructional program design and delivery systems; plans, organizes, designs and implements curriculum and instructional programs and activities; plans, organizes and directs research and development processes, including educational assessment and projection, Special Education and service audit and evaluation processes; plans, organizes, manages and directs educational technology and information services; assists in the planning, development and implementation of Board policies, superintendent regulations and the strategies for achieving District goals and objectives; supervises and evaluates the Educational Services Division staff and the school principals; manages compliance issues related to instruction and completes other related functions as directed.

• Master's Degree with an educational emphasis to include the fields of curriculum, instruction, assessment, school improvement, or related area.-Administrative Services Credential; Valid California Teaching Credential-Minimum of five years successful experience as a classroom teacher, with preferable experience in each of the elementary, middle, and secondary levels.-Minimum of five years successful administrative experience as a principal and/or district level administrator.-Bilingual/Biliterate (Spanish) highly desirable -Knowledge and experience in working with large Spanish-speaking/ELL populations
